Joel Keller bought his first guitar from a blues playing Buddhist Monk in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He learned folk chords, played Bob Dylan songs and started writing his own music.  Other early influences include Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Hank Williams, Sr., Elvis, The Coasters, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

He eventually drove his motorcycle to the West Coast and became active with the live music scene.
Joel joined the Northern California Songwriters Association (NASA).  Each year they hosted
Nashville Publishers looking for songs and after twenty years in California, Joel moved to Tennessee to be closer to the song writing community.

Joel has polished his craft in the ten years since relocating to the Music Row area.  He primarily writes jazz, blues, novelty and country songs.  He has played most of the songwriter clubs in Nashville and can be seen every Tuesday at the French Quarter in Nashville, TN.

Joel has placed several of his songs on Nashville albums and most recently two of his musical works were chosen for a World premeir feature film "Breaking and Entering", released by VSM Productions.
